Kangaroo Shoulder Wings are fast becoming one of our most popular Kangaroo Dog Treats. They are a great dental aid and entertaining chew for small to medium and even larger dogs can get their teeth in. This is a low fat treat, all Kangaroo meat is very lean, high in protein and low in fat.
As these Kangaroos are free roaming, no one can guarantee that they roam on to non-organic land. Even though they are surrounded by millions of acres of it! Therefore they technically can not become organically certified and we list them as ‘free roaming’.
Some of the benefits of free roaming Kangaroos is they only consume grass. So, all of our Kangaroo products contain no chemicals, no antibiotics and no feed. Consequently, this ensures our Roo products contain only the highest quality and natural lean meat possible.
Kangaroo is also high in antioxidants and contains the highest level of Omega 3 versus, lamb, beef & pork treats. Omega 3 helps aid joint pain and inflammation as well as strengthen your dog’s immune system.

Sizes do vary but most are around 10-12cm long by 4-8cm wide but they can be outside this range. There are about 18 to a kilo, but again this can vary.

My dog loves these but it’s only something i will give him when I can monitor him as the parts of the bone he leaves behind I feel are a choking hazard if he went back to them later – he’s a mini groodle so a medium size dog. I will be getting the bulb tendons and knee tendons instead of the wings next time even though they don’t last as long.

Always a fav product for me and my medium sized dog. It takes her a good amount of time to get through it, and she can never completely consume it so there is always something to go back to. A tiny bit smelly, but nowhere near as smelly as some other items. The smell on her goes away after a couple of hours.

I bought these for our beagles. That are very tough treats. In fact they did not eat all the bone leaving a small piece behind. This worries me as we have smaller digs too. So I won’t probably get them again. Breast bones and ribs and tendons from now on. They love those.

Hi Alice, these will vary purely based on the size and age of the kangaroo. The season and rains and available feed can make a difference on the roo size so some parts of the year they can be much bigger or smaller in general too.

First disappointing product from the stable of treats. Lots of cracking sounds, gagging and coughing as my dogs try to consume these. One of my dogs looked slightly distressed trying to eat it and another took to just carrying it everywhere for half an hour before basically handing it back to me. The uneaten portion looks kind of dangerous too, a potential hazard to accidentally stand on. We tried and failed, Personally I think this is a treat that I wouldn’t recommend for smaller dogs.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. Some dogs, like our younger mini schnauzer aren’t big chewers and end up carrying them round, often appearing a little stressed and wondering what to do. In these cases definitely go to a less longer lasting treat like the roo knee tendons, shark skin strips, Short Roo Jerky or standard pizzle. Larger dogs can crunch up the bones and customers who use the wings do say they often monitor and remove when they get through the main wing and the thicker socket remains where larger jaws will crunch them up. Its just a case of monitoring or choosing which works for each individual dog. We have certainly never had any issues reported with the product and its popular.

My Cavoodles love to eat these and will polish them off, but to be honest I am concerned about the very sharp shards of bone created when they are chewed – they look like hard bone needles which could piece the gut. So I have to watch the dogs eating and take them away when they start to splinter. I will not buy them again but you have so many other great products safe for small dogs.

I have 2 mini schnauzers and unfortunately they cannot tolerate either the kangaroo tails or the kangaroo wings because of the bones. They love them but they bones make them vomit.. i will stick with the jerky’s in future

We have bought our Cavoodle the beef spare ribs, and these kangaroo shoulders. They last longer than the ribs, and she loves them both, though these last longer. She finishes most of one in about 20 mins, then spends the rest of the day chewing on the bones that are left. They’re great for dogs that don’t have the jaw strength for some of the tougher and larger treats

Hi Donna, sorry to hear you didn’t like these. We have sold them for many years with no issues. The bones is not cooked and generally its the edges the bone products give that make them a great dental chew. For our dogs we tend to throw the larger bone part once they have gnawed down the ‘wing blade’

Our Lab is given Kangaroo Shoulder or Jerky every day after his long walk, in fact, he practically runs home at the end to claim his “big” treat! Finished in only a couple of minutes but he’s very satisfied… big drink of water & he’s passed out for a good while! He also has tiny pieces of Kangaroo Liver throughout the day for training (or, just because…). It’s so lean. He used to have pigs ears & were fantastic for gums & long-lasting but just too fattening for him. Gotta love the Kangaroo 🙂

Another great product!!! I had been seeking an alternative to pigs ears due to the export situation, tried beef ears, but the mutts not that enthused….so bought some kangaroo wings on wednesday.
