Beef paddywack dog treats are a tendon in the midline of the neck of cattle. They are quite strong and make excellent lasting dental chews and entertaining dog chews for most sized dogs though they are targeted towards a medium strength jaw.
We would highly recommend them as an alternative to rawhide as they are more digestible as a tendon rather than hide.

We have a lab who goes through chewy sticks like they were candy. These are reasonably hard and interesting for him to chew through so I have nothing but good things to say.

Ok so my Rottweiler Jack is possibly a little spoilt paddywhacks are a great boredom buster good chew and that takes a while for him to finish great value special big dog treat.

i have smaller dogs so they have to be broken up but they last a long time –

More suitable for big dogs. We had to cut these up into smaller pieces with an axe because it takes our smaller dogs hours to get through them. They like other treats better.

These are probably one of the best chew sticks I’ve found on the market so far. Much better than rawhide – no toxins – but last almost as long. I have a Ridgeback and a Sausage Dog – and they both manage just fine with these sticks. The sausage just takes a little longer to get through one 😉 – will definitely be buying more of these little gems 👍👍👍

My boys loved them , so much so that I left the bag on the kitchen bench , went to work and came home to an empty bag , very expensive day ! But my fault

My Rhodesian ridgeback just loves these paddywacks. Like anything for a RR they don’t last great lengths of time, but are a good teeth cleaner and a nice change up. Will be buying these again.

Gone in less than five minutes so definitely don’t cut it as a long lasting chew. Expected more based on other reviews and the cost.

Hi Shiona, thanks for the feedback. That surprises me as they are a dense tendon which normally take a little while to get through even for a strong jawed dog. What breed do you have? Send me an email the next time you order and I will put in a few samples such as the hooves etc to see if we can find something he/she enjoys that lasts a while. I will throw in another paddywack just in case you had a rogue one!

These take time to munch through, so in that respect they get a tick of approval. The Westy and the Boerboel both love crunching on these. Though they didn’t save my expensive latex pillow from being destroyed. 🙁

My boy normally likes all treats. For some reason he doesn’t like these. He’ll play with it and toss it around but won’t eat it. I’m not sure if the scent isn’t enticing enough? I’ve put them in the same bag as the Kangaroo Jerky Flaps (which he loves) to transfer some of the scent onto the Paddywacks but he’ll then only lick the Paddywacks and still won’t eat it. Any ideas?
cleardog –
Hi Pam, I am not 100% sure as they are one of our more popular lasting treats but some dogs can get overwhelmed by larger treats – dogs (including one of ours will walk around aimlessly with a pigs ear and try and bury it but something smaller like a cow or sheep ears he goes nuts with. Then it comes down to taste, it unfortunately just might not be his cup of tea 🙁 If you have a small saw, try cutting in half and see if its the size perhaps.

Great size and texture for big dogs that are strong chewers. Don’t have a strong smell or greasy texture, so ok for inside chewing. The individual sealed packaging is handy for storage.

Great long lasting chew. I love that there is no nasty stuff in them. Dogs teeth look great too.
Didnt last quite as long as I thought with my standard poodles, but they really liked them, so diligent about chewing them up.

Brilliant but different treat for my big lab. Takes a while to crunch so good for teeth, and different taste (I think tho I have not tried it myself)!

I was surprised how long a paddywhack lasted. They must be really sturdy stuff for my Cocker Spaniel puppy to take so long to demolish

Purchased these for our labrador who is one. They last longer than other treats and he is a strong chewer. The individual wrapping keeps them fresh and are now one of his favourites. Good for cleaning his teeth and well priced.

Got these for my foxy and dachshund cross, i got the large size pack because i had planned to cut them up into smaller pieces for them, i used my usual dog treat cutters to cut into smaller pieces but they shattered into small sharp pieces when cut. I expected these to be firm but chewy but they are just very very hard and when my dachshund was chomping on it smaller splinter like pieces were flying off and it sounded like he could break a tooth, these are not suitable for my boys. Delivery was very fast and the Sheep ears i also got are good.

Excellent long lasting chew for the dogs. I purchased these for my Lappies and they lasted a long time.
Non greasy like some other treats

Not a fan. These very firm hard treats but are surprisingly brittle. I was hoping for.a long lasting chew that would help clean teeth, but it sounds like they are chewing hard candy. I don’t think they have a particularly exciting smell either, the dogs looked fairly unimpressed when they first tried them and left hard chunks lying around the house and they now turn their noses up at them completely since they tried the roo knees.

I’m disappointed in these paddywacks!! They are very brittle and pretty much shattered when my big dog bit into it. He would have eaten the whole thing in 5 minutes if I hadn’t taken it away from him. I didn’t want him eating all those large shards! Now I have a pile of paddywacks I don’t know what to do with.
cleardog –
Hi Candace, Sorry to hear the paddywacks are not working for you. you are welcome to return for a refund. The paddywacks are not bone and not cooked, its just dried tendons and should not present your dog with any issues as far as harming him goes. Some dogs have strong jaws and can get through these fast but most find this a longer lasting chew. We have literally sold tonnes of this product with no reported issues from the tendon.

My dog loves this! It looks deceptively soft but lasts a really long time. Am deducting a star for the unnecessary shrink wrapping. It takes an extra minute to unwrap and contributes to plastic waste (and weight!). This item doesn’t have a strong odour nor is it crumbly either so I don’t see the point.
