Mackerel Skin Twists Dog Treats
Mackerel Skin Twists dog treats are a delicious, natural, and healthy choice, made from all-Australian mackerel skin. Being a single-ingredient product, they contain only mackerel, and no preservatives or sugar, which can be harmful to your dog. Instead, they contain omega 3 fatty acids which is a nutrient recommended by veterinarians. These are another Clear dog customers favourite treats for their dogs (and cats!) with plenty of raving reviews – be sure to try them!
As a skin product, these are a reasonably soft and chewy dental chew for medium-strength jaws. These will keep your pooch entertained and assist with dental health. These suits most dogs, although some small dogs might find them too much of a challenge while strong jaws might see them last a shorter time.
Alternatively, we have Fish Rawhide Knots which are also great chews for small to medium dogs.
These are hand made and sizes vary slightly they average 20cm but may range from 15-25cm.
Average weight is around 30g per piece so about 30-35 per kilo but do vary from batch to batch

My cocker spaniel loves them; a terrific chewy treat, a great smelly treat for food ‘enrichment’ activities, and fantastic for his skin. This helps allieviate his skin dryness with the fishy oil. Not a huge long lasting chew for my dog, but I always have them available. Highly recommend it.

Like all of the ClearDog fish & shark skin treats, thease Mackerel Skin Twists illicit a happy dance from my little terrier as soon as I open the bag. He rolls on the treat, then brings it to me for a quick game of toss before settling down to munch away. These aren’t as long lasting as the fish skin knots, but still a very good dental chew. They’re a little smelly, but that’s why dogs love them! The vet always comments on how heathy my dog’s teeth & gums are and I attribute this to his fish & shark skin dental chews from ClearDog.

My 6 month old Aussie would gives these 5 stars if she could as she absolutely loves them. They are an occasional treat which is usually scoffed within 60 seconds. I’m only giving them 4 stars as I don’t want her to gain excess weight and I’ll probably chose a lower fat option next time, especially given how quickly they are devoured, They are excellent quality however, I love the resealable bag, they are single ingredient and they’re not too stinky.

I used to buy fish skin twists for my Kelpie from another overseas dog treat producer, however they became more expensive and difficult to get so I looked around and found these from Cleardog. I love the fact that I’m now supporting an Australian company and the product is excellent.
To make the twists go further, my husband cuts them in half (he has to use a saw because they are very hard and even my kitchen scissors don’t do the job). As they are hard, they are excellent for cleaning my dog’s teeth.

Our dogs have been eating the kangaroo tendons for years now. We decided to try something different to mix it up a bit, and these mackerel skin twists are great. They are a bit softer than the tendons, but still a great chew and good for their teeth. Both our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels love them. Best eaten outside due to smell, but so are most treats 🙂
