Shark Skin Dental Chews Dog Treats
Shark skin strips are quite strong and chewy making them incredibly healthy dental aids and chews for most sized dogs. This flake shark is caught off our northern Queensland waters in a sustainable fashion and dried by the same team and sent directly to us. It doesn’t get any better than this!
Fish dog treats have a high natural level of omega 3 and 6 which have a lot of claimed health benefits for joints, skin and coat.
100% North Queensland Black Tip Shark skin. This shark is caught using sustainable practices with quota’s strictly managed by the Australian Fisheries. It is very common in our waters and not endangered.

This is a natural product so sizes and weights vary based on the size of the animal. The following is an indication on average only.
They can vary in size but most are 10-15cm long and 5 to 10cm wide.
From a random picked 1kg bag we counted 30 pieces which would mean pieces average 33g each but of course, there are variations.
150g and 300g sizes come in a convenient resealable stand up pouch. 1kg bulk come in a resealable flat bag.

This is Rumbo’s favourite dog treat, he has to sit and look at it for at least a day before having a good old chew, it really helps to clean his teeth and keep them white. I do cut them in half lengthways as he is a Moodle and finds they are sometimes to wide to get a grip in his mouth.

Smell could be an issue for some but I cut the pieces into thin 1-2cm wide strips for easy consumption by “Jaws” (not his real name) the Parson Russell Terrier. Upon said beast clasping onto strip either makes his way outside into the sun for an unfettered chew (around 5 or so minutes per strip) or deposits self on dog hammock with “munchy rug” laid out. Munchy rug is shaken out and rolled up for next chewing session and washed regularly.

Finally a treat that my big chewing dog has to take her time with and doesn’t eat in two seconds! She really savours these and they do last her a good half an hour or so. She is a 30kg pointer and normally gets through “long lasting chews” in about 1 minute! Haven’t seen her bury one yet, just flops herself in the garden and concentrates fully on devouring this when she gets it. I give her one once a week. They are quite big pieces which is good but I’ve found they can be cut up if needed using scissors. Some people have mentioned the smell but I haven’t found these too bad compared to some of the other fishy products. Just keep them in the packet they come in and in a plastic box.. Two of our five dogs are difficult to buy treats for because they practically guzzle them whole, no chewing, just choking! However, I decided to try these shark chews and well, I have to say THESE, treats are rocking it with my dogs, and they are healthy and are absolute fantastic value for money!!! The guzzle-guts’ actually sat down, held the treats between their paws and were in doggy dreamland for a good 15 mins (record breaking for them) as they enjoyed every last bit…we’ll be buying more of these for sure!!

Our giant schnauzer isn’t as fussed on the shark skin chews. The first one he partially ate, then left in the sun to smell and attract flies!! Reading above reviews, think I’ll cut them smaller and see what happens. Moved the packs into the garage as they have quite a ‘fragrance’ if stored inside.

Longer lasting than most treats. The compromise is a dog that smells like it’s been playing in the fish market but given that it lasts longer than most and that it seems safe enough to leave pup with (it’s large enough to force pup to chew it down vs gulp and there aren’t any bones / splintering), I’m definitely purchasing again.

Only thing I would change would be cutting them into smaller/long pieces to cater to small dogs and those who want them last a little longer.
They’re incredibly difficult to cut yourself using scissors or even garden shears.

My two kelpies love their sharkie. I tried cutting them in half, but even kitchen shears were not up to the job. I had to develop a special storage system on a plastic sealed vontainer inside another plastic sealed container to keep the smell in, but we’re a fishing family and used to fishy smells. Nipper and Echo give them 10/10.

I’d never thought about using shark skin as a treat, but my boys LOVE this! It’s a little smelly, but it is a “clean” treat that can be given inside – if you don’t mind the beachy smell! I swear the boys coats have improved too since eating it! Lab tested, lab approved! I’ll definitely be buying more!

My dogs love dried fish products, and I love the shark ones in particular. I have a larger than average male Samoyed who struggles with weight, so I am always worried about his joints and hips. Since having these I have noticed when he stretches his legs behind him every morning he is much more limber. They also clean the teeth really well. I find some treats encourage plaque and these skins give them a nice scrub, making them pearly white again!

Sorry if I have missed something, I cant find any other email from you regarding salt. Our suppliers do not provide us with much nutritional analysis unfortunately but its something we are working on with them and I have a goal of having the top 50% of our products done in the next 3-4 months. Please note we do not add anything to our products so it would just be the natural salt content within the product. As a natural unmolded product there will be variations in size depending on the size and cut however generally they should all be within a reasonable variance. Cheers, Peter

Staffy loves this treat. Bit fishy smelling but worth it as she loves it and its good for her. Cannot easily b broken into smaller pieces so not ideal as training treat. Lasts longer than some other treats tho which is great.

These are by far the best chew I’ve found for my dogs in 12 years. The goldens love them and they last for 15 – 20 minutes. Some just chew like gum, others work hard at scraping the meat off first, then devouring the skin. Either way, their teeth get a good clean. Only downside is the smell – not particularly desirable.

I have been eyeing these up for a while and wish I had tried them sooner! Thoroughly recommend these to anyone who has a power chewer that gets through treats too quickly. They are super tasty (not excessively smelly) and provide a solid half an hour or more of occupation for our kelpie/border collie cross.
