Green Lipped Mussels Dog Treats
Green Lipped Mussels contain naturally high levels of Omega 3 which is essential in helping to maintain healthy bones and skin.
As with all fish dog treats, they are a great high value dog training treat and quick reward snack.
This dog treat is 100% Green Lipped Mussels with no additives or preservatives.
OMEGA-3 for dogs may have these benefits:
- Reduces infections caused by yeast, fungal, or bacteria in dogs ears.
- Treatment of allergic and inflammatory dermatological conditions in dogs.
- Training and learning enhancing properties (increased brain function)
- Reduces cardiovascular problems like sudden cardiac death or arrhythmias, blood clots and hypertension.
- Assists in treatment of ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and rheumatoid arthritis
- Good cholesterol rises with fish oil for dogs, providing a better cholesterol profile.

Dosage: There is no set recommendation for mussels and it can also depend on if it’s just for general well being or to help a condition and if its at the initial or maintenance stage. Each dog may also respond differently. Generally a good start is 3-6g for <5kg dogs, 5-10g for small dogs up to 10kg, 10-20g for 10-30kg and 20-40g for larger. Start at the lower end and increase over time if you feel it’s necessary.

This is a natural product so sizes and weights vary. The following is an indication on average only.
Mussels are fragile and while we do our best to provide a stable product, they can and will break up a bit. There will be smaller bits and crumbs at the bottom which are as beneficial as the whole wholes so we recommend either putting them in a food processor or lying the bag down inside a kitchen cloth and rolling with a rolling pin to crunch them up further before sprinkling on to your dogs food.
On average each mussel is about 4g. ie around 250 per kg.
100g, 400g come in a convenient stand up resealable pouch.
1kg Bulk packs are provided in a resealable flat pack. The powder will come in a resealable tub(s) in this size

I like the 1kg bag of mussels. I have two Shih Tzu’s and they love them. They are given as treats. I have bought from other suppliers and can only get small packets, and always find a lot of broken pieces in other suppliers. Smell horrible, but keep them in airtight container on the bench and they are readily available. The cost is high, but they are really worthwhile. I usually get other products from “Clear Dog” as well and find them to be very easy to deal with, cost of packaging quite reasonable and great labelling on all packets.

We bought the 1kg powdered mussels as we’d researched that they are excellent for dogs with arthritis. It’s not a cheap product, but the 1kg bucket will last more than his lifetime, as he’s a small furbaby. Just note that you need to start off giving small amounts as it can upset some tummies. We sprinkle this on his food, and he has no problem eating it all up. As per usual, delivery is prompt.

Unfortunately neither of my dogs would touch these, perhaps because at present they have other Cleardog treats they love more. But mussels are very nutritionally valuable for dogs and these are well dried, so I will grind them up and incorporate a teaspoon of powder into their daily food instead.
