Mackerel fish bites are a great training dog treat and also make a perfect quick snack. Our mackerel is caught off our northern Queensland waters and dried by the same team and sent directly to us. It doesn’t get any better than this!
Mackerel Fish Bites have a high natural level of omega 3 and 6 which have a lot of claimed health benefits for joints, skin and coat.
Tip: Use these treats as a quick reward to help train your dog when they are doing something good. Try using a clicker to tell them the instant they portrayed a good behaviour and follow up with the treat soon after. The clicker ensures they know what they did correctly immediately otherwise by the time you treat them they might be doing some other behaviour. Soon your dog will replicate the good behaviour and down the line you can slowly remove the treat as the reward and replace with a pat or praise etc. This reward based training will work for all manner of behaviours from the basics of sitting and staying, to jumping up at the door, barking, through to complex trick

One of the more smelly treats! Makes them very popular with the dog, i find them hard to break into smaller bits so tend to just leave them the size they come and stuff them into a kong for my dog to roll around and get them out during the day.

My dog will do anything for these. Extremely useful when she has something horrible at the beach – these are the only treats that she will drop her “find” and come for. Yes smelly – but useful and healthy.

I have tried these with a number of different dogs I know & wash. Without exception they are the #1 treat dogs love.
The strong scent of the Mackerel is ideal for tracking training.

My dog will do backflips for these treats, she absolutely loves them. They can be quite difficult to break in to smaller pieces – the only thing I have found which does the job is a pair of trauma scissors. They do smell a bit fishy but they are a fantastic training aid – my dog can smell them from a good distance away, great for when we are at the park so she can’t forget that I’m holding the prize!

Rosie loves these. Good size for the Kong, to keep her occupied when I leave. Bit of a smell, makes it easier for her to find where I hid the Kong. Great nutritious treat and good value as well.

My puppy absolutely loves these very stinky treats. They’re a pretty good size, and very valuable to use as jackpots when training.

Baz and Princess LOVE these!! A great healthy treat. They’ve been given the 5 star Welshie approval!

Being a labrador, Lily will eat anything put in front of her. She loves the fish treats in general, so these are equally loved. Just that for a big dog, there are other treats in the fish range that do actually touch the sides when eaten ;). Perhaps more suitable for a small dog.

Both my dogs love these treats. They’re a good size for putting in my treat toys (planet dog snoop) but could be a bit big for some treat toys and are difficult to break into small pieces. They do smell fishy, but I don’t mind it and the dogs love it 🙂

My staffy x Jackrussell loves these treats and looks forwards to them every morning. I also like the fact that they are a small treat which is good for her size. I also like the fact that they are all natural and very good for her.

the extent to which my dog loves all things fishy is surprising. These bites are good because they are small but provide some chew resistance so they last just that little bit longer …..

My dog loves these. He drools when he knows he’s getting a treat and they’re brilliant for cleaning his little teeth. Buying more.

My 3 springers go crazy for these. They dont break down easily so I only give when they deserve the whole piece….which is pretty often lol.

Perfect size for small dogs e.g. 5kg. My dog loves them. He gets one each time he has to stay at home so it’s a good exchange. Nice fish with a thin layer of skin is just right.

I’d crushed these with pestle and mortar for treat balls. Also great to wrap these in old cloth pieces then stuffed inside an empty tissue roll.

Great treat and my dogs love them, but a little on the small side, my staffy and heeler, tend to swallow these and not chew them, probably wouldn’t buy these again, as I am looking for products that keep them entertained / busy.
My aged Staffy actually threw the first 6 or so up, because she hadn’t chewed them being smaller pieces & she is a bit of a hoover when it comes to food…
